Eisley - Room Noises

Guys.. what we have here maybe the next indie sensation! No thanks to the fucked up local music industry which is heavily plagued by Taiwan pretty boy/girl pop, its nearly impossible to put my grimy hands on this soon to be mainstream band. SO… naturally i have to p2p the entire album. Trust me, when it gets realeased in our back-water market i’ll happily spend my cash on their cd.

Btw, on a side note i’d like to say thanks to a fellow forum member for introducing this wonderful Texan indie band. So what’s so special about Eisley? Its fronted by a lovely sounding girl. I don’t have the details but what i know of that they’re all siblings. I know for a fact that whenever we talk about a band of siblings we’ll recall about those god forbidden “bands”, but with Eisley its au contraire. This is a true, blue and very original indie band. I can’t really categorise their music, its a very mellow mix of multi genres with indie on center stage. Room Noises is a 12 track cd:

Eisley - Room Noises

  1. Memories
  2. Telescope Eyes
  3. I Wasn’t Prepared
  4. Golly Sandra
  5. Marvelous Things
  6. Brightly Wound
  7. Lost At Sea
  8. My Lovely
  9. Just Like We Do
  10. Plenty of Paper
  11. One Day I Slowly Floated Away
  12. Trolley Wood

In my humble opinion the first track says a lot about an album, and with Memories it promises an album full of quality music. Memories is a very beautiful song. One thing that captured my attention was the vocalist, her voice is very entrancing. The song as whole brings a wonderful feeling. A soft musical blanket that wraps around you. The melody has a slight celtic influence which if you will find out is scattered within the album. A few of my friends have told me that it has a slight The Cranberries-like feel to it, yet to my opinion Eisley has their own musical style which is unique in the current music scene which is bloated with crappy pop-punk bands. I Wasn’t Prepared is another piece i enjoy very much. Its a much slower number, a very dreamy and romantic number. Eisley seem to really enjoy playing slower songs and it doesn’t feel as if the music itself is forced. They are born natural with slow pace, the vocals are the centre stage of Eisley’s music, where the lead vocals and the backing vocals (Both Female) leading the music instead of the usual guitars, drums, base and synthesizers setting the pace with the vocals as filling. The lead and backing vocalists are very talented with playing with the pace and tune of the song. Marvelous Things is THE song that caught my attention of Eisley. The song itself has a very melancholy yet mysterious tune. With, as usual, the vocals setting the pace and tune of the music. The vocals starts the song with tunes and lyrics filled with mystery and once that feel of mystique starts to set in; a change of tune by a very heart melting chorus with a very melancholy feel changes the feel of the music. The music seem to entrance you and creates a dreamy effect to your sense reality. Brightly Wound is a very dreamy song. A song that puts you in your personal universe where nothing can go wrong, where you’re still that 3 year old child, looking at the world in a much brighter light than you are right now.

Though i have lots to say bout this up and coming band, I won’t continue onwards about the whole album, there’s so much a person can take with my rambles; but definitely the whole album is a top quality stuff.

Room Noises is a top-notch album. Try and get the album and have a listen. And you’re entranced by the dreaminess, don’t forget to spend some hard earn cash on these guys, cos they really deserve the support. 5/5 stars !!

… etc?

Flowing rivers collide with never-ending sea
infinite beyond, an endless journey

Seeking a reason to exist
slowly but surely walking the endless path
a journey of enlightment?

Take the numbness away
Send me to oblivion
Let me float in nothingness
