… (Ran out of witty ideas for titles)

School’s been heavily sucking up my time even though it only started. They said that second year subjects are tougher and more time consuming. I have to agree, next week I’ve got a presentation on Human Resources (Whoopee Doo!) Eventhough my schedule’s tight I’ve managed to catch M.I.3 which is one of those rare sequels that manage to out-trump their formers. So here comes a brief review on Mission Impossible 3!

Well typically theres plenty of action, shooting and what not employing a manic range of high-tech weaponary which won’t look out of place a century from now. The movie employs a slight flashback methodology which is rather popular with t.v. serials nowadays. No surprises there where they employed J.J.Abrams who’ve created the award winning serial drama ‘Lost’. The production company made some really good moves employing a writer/director who has a nack of playing with people’s emotions through the art of cinematography. Lets move forward to what I liked about the movie shall we? Primarily action: There was plenty of mind bending action from start till end. I particularly enjoyed the scene in the Vatican where the IMF (Impossible Mission task-Force. I never thought of that!) under a guerilla mission suppose to capture the evil Owen Davian which is superbly acted by Philip Seymour Hoffman. The scene of abducting Davian was very well done, smooth and leaves no loop holes for one to wonder how this person appeared out of nowhere managing to do something illogical, the vatican scene managed to cram in humour, action and a huge dosage of bewilderment. Hoffman must be commended as he did a fantastic job of potraying an obnoxious bastard with no conscience. Action was top-notch in this film, rescue scene, bridge scene and especially the ending was very well executed. I find no complaints in the action department. The plot isn’t top-grade but I wasn’t expecting the ending though, it was rather unexpected. M.I.3 is a fairly good watch. A few things that didn’t rocked my boat was Tom Cruise in particular, the opposite side of the spectrum would argue that he is handsome and all that, but frankly I don’t enjoy Tom Cruise in his typical Cruise-ness method of acting. He just seems to be particularly good acting tired and desperate. I won’t be surprised if he is such a person in reality. I’ve also gotten myself a copy of The Strokes new album. A detailed review would be coming up soon.

A little update on the website. In drastic response to the unbearable spamming of my shoutbox I’ll be deactivating it for a week or so. If you’d like to leave a message just leave a comment. Sorry for the inconvenience.
These past week while being busy with school work, I’ve also been contemplating on seriously going back to mountain-biking. Its been a long time since I rode: nearly 2 years to be exact. And frankly my bottom is begging for a good beating from the unforgivable bicycle saddle. I miss the days of riding hard and long in sun and rain, day or night with our old pose of mountain bikers. I miss terrorising the mountain and forest trails. I miss being smothered in mud, sand and animal faeces. Most of all I miss being at one with nature. Well the contemplation involves bringing my mountain bike here to Kuching. But before bringing it here I need to fix her up, and there are plenty of things to do on the bike which equates to a rather hefty bill. And since I need every part of my body to cycle the idea of selling off a few ‘un-important’ parts of my body to gather some cash is thrown out of the window. I estimate about RM1000 to fix my bike up. Which is a lot for something which is basically an aluminium frame, some gears and tyres to the undeserving. I’ve always loved mountain biking and I doubt that I’ll quit. Eventhough I haven’t been riding in such a while I still maintain my passion with bicycles.

Now. I have to get back configuring my notebook for UNIX and SQL or else I might fail this semester. The rigours of studying: bittersweet really.
